Disrupting partisan politics: Finding humanity in a world of hyper partisanship
One of the highlights of my career has been leading the 2023 Yemi for Mayor campaign. Serving as Yemi's Campaign Manager and leading the hardest working team in politics, helped me fulfill dreams of making real change in the City of Colorado Springs. After our win, I told Anthony Carlson, our Campaign Strategist, this story has to be told. We have to tell other cities and communities what we did here.
My hope with this book is to inspire other communities to do the same. We unified a city, brought both sides of the aisle (and every affiliation in between) to the same table to work together to solve issues. We proved that we can disagree but still work together to find common ground.
Working with Anthony was an honor. Leading a ground breaking, disrupting, underdog campaign of a political newcomer to a landslide win was nothing more than a miracle story. Not only did we disrupt the status quo and the power dynamic in the city but we fought to bring the voices of the citizens to the forefront.
